NEW COMMUNITY DEFIBRILLATOR

The Randolph Social Welfare Centre (charity no. 520785) is a separate charity responsible for the Welfare Recreation Ground. The Parish Council is itself the sole trustee of the charity. The Trustee Board is pleased to announce that a British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded community defibrillator will be installed at the sports pavilion within the Welfare Ground (Stones End) in the coming weeks.

Why should we get a defibrillator?

If someone has a cardiac arrest, a defibrillator can help restart their heart while you’re waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

Getting a defibrillator for your organisation, community or school is vital because:

  • there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year and currently less than 1 in 10 survive

  • without immediate intervention with a defibrillator, most cardiac arrests are fatal

  • every minute without CPR and a defibrillator, reduces survival chances by up to 10%.
