NEW ALLOTMENT TENANCY AGREEMENT AND ALLOTMENT RULES
Evenwood and Barony Parish Council operates three allotment sites at Copeland Road and Delaware Avenue. The Jubilee Terrace allotment site is run by an allotment association which deals with waiting lists and other related issues.
The Parish Council has approved the recommendations from the Allotments Working Group for new allotment rules, subject to circulating the final version to all tenants who are to be affected by the proposed changes by way of consultation prior to the commencement date on 1st April 2025.
PAYING YOUR ALLOTMENT RENT
Allotment rents will increase by the following increments over the next two years with effect from 1st April 2026.
- 75 pence per plot per week in April 2026 to £39 per annum;
- £1 per plot per week in April 2027 to £52 per annum.
Allotment rents are collected annually in advance for the coming year and are due between 1st January 2026 and 1st April 2026. Anyone with a current account at a bank or building society in the UK can give a Standing Order instruction to make an automated payment. Online banking - electronic transfer can be made directly to the Parish Council’s account using the account details available from the Parish Clerk.
- You MUST quote a reference for payment (name of allotment holder or plot number).
- You cannot pay using a credit card or debit card.
- If you have any queries about paying your annual allotment rent, please contact the Parish Clerk - email [email protected]
