The Parish Council has signed up to the Civility and Respect Pledge to demonstrate a commitment to addressing poor behaviour and fostering positive changes to support civil and respectful behaviour. To date 1,911 local councils have signed up to the Pledge (249 over the past 12 months). Another key action (which reinforces civility an respect) is that individual parish councillors have signed up to the recently launched 'Statemment of Assurance'. Research has identified that if individuals in an organisation as well as the organisation itself sign up to be civil and respectful it is mch more effective than just one or the other doing so. 2,163 statements of assurance have already been downloaded.
