NEW ALLOTMENT TENANCY AGREEMENT AND ALLOTMENT RULES

Evenwood and Barony Parish Council operates three allotment sites at Copeland Road and Delaware Avenue. The Jubilee Terrace allotment site is run by an allotment association which deals with waiting lists and other related issues.

The Parish Council has approved the recommendations from the Allotments Working Group for new allotment rules, subject to circulating the final version to all tenants who are to be affected by the proposed changes by way of consultation prior to the commencement date on 1st April 2025.

The allotment rent will increase from £20.00 to £26.00 per plot, per year on 1st April 2025, and the collection of allotment rents next year (April 2025) will be done without recourse to cash payments. Allotment holders will not be expected to attend in person to pay their rent. Anyone with a current account at a bank or building society in the UK can give a Standing Order instruction to make an automated payment. Online banking - electronic transfer can be made directly to the Council's account using the account details available from the Parish Clerk. You MUST quote a reference for payment (name of allotment holder or plot number). You cannot pay using a credit/debit card.

It is the long-term aim of the Parish Council to improve and make the allotment sites self-financing, and parish councillors have decided that allotment rents will increase in increments over 3 years to this end:-

50 pence per plot per week in April 2025 to £26.00 per annum
75 pence per plot per week in April 2026 to £39.00 per annum
£1.00 per plot per week in April 2027 to £52.00 per annum.
