The Parish Council operates THREE allotment sites at COPELAND ROW and DELAWARE AVENUE and JUBILEE TERRACE. Jubilee Terrace allotment site is run by an allotment association which deals with waiting lists and other related issues. While a traditional "full plot" is usually 10 rods, or about 250 square meters, allotment sizes on each site vary widely.
ALLOTMENT RENTS are collected annually by the Parish Council in advance for the coming year and are due between 1st January and 28th February. Should any allotment holder allow their rent to be unpaid past that deadline, then a notice of termination will give them one month to quit the plot; the tenancy will be at an end, and the allotment will be re-let to the next person on the waiting list. The allotment rent will increase next year from £39.00 to £52.00 per plot (£1 per week) and the collection of rents will be done without recourse to cash payments as usual. Allotment holders are not expected to attend in person to pay their rent; they are encouraged to avoid using cash and to use contactless payment options, preferably online electronic bank transfer directly to the Parish Council’s account, quoting a reference for payment (name of allotment holder or plot number).
